The Differences Between Black and White Portraits and Color Portraits

Differences Between Black and White Portraits and Color Portraits

Hey everyone, Leesa Here I am writing a neat little article about the differences between Black and White images and Color Images. I hope that you enjoy the reading and feel free to share or comment with any questions.
There are just a few differences between Black and White and Color images Besides the original difference, THE COLOR. One is that the contrast and lighting can be majorly different and show a new side to an image that you would not get with one being Color and one being Black and White.
I personally Love both types of photography and try to add a little Black and White into Clients packages. These differences can change an outlook fast and make you think whether the image is Dramatic or a fun, lightly descriptive image.
When looking at a Black and White Image you can see the shadows can be more harsh than in a color image as well as the light that shines can really show a Haze type of light into the image. A color image the haze may not show unless brought out through an editing session and the shadows are not as harsh if taken in the correct lighting.
Remember Lighting Is Key, whether you are shooting all Black and White images or A mixture of both. I love my color so much that I use it a lot more than I do with Black and White But I try to even the editing to a limit on both so that the client receives a different feel to certain images.
So remember If you enjoy capturing images, Try something new and add some black and white to certain images and It can open up a new look into your type of photography and your editing style. GET CREATIVE, BE CREATIVE, CREATE ART.
